WebBenington Lordship lies to the north-west of the south-west part of the village of Benington, c 5km east of the centre of Stevenage. The c 30ha site is bounded to the north and west by agricultural land, and to the south and east largely by the Aston to Benington lane. WebThe house and gardens of Bennington Lordship in Hertford, are owned by Richard Bott, having been bought by his great grandfather in 1905. The site is old, starting as a Saxon earthwork, then a Norman motte and bailey, before various manor houses were built on the site. Ken Crowther spoke to Richard about the history of the garden and house.
